Central Region President and Twin Cities Market Leader

Mike Ott

Mike Ott is the Central Region President for The Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank. He is responsible for all aspects of the wealth management business and strategy in the Twin Cities, Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison markets.

Mike has 17 years of industry experience, most recently as president and chief executive officer at Somerset Asset Management LLC in Minneapolis. Prior to that, he worked at Piper Jaffrey & Co., initially in institutional equity sales and eventually as the head of the equity research department as a managing director. He has also worked for ABN/Amro and Ford Motor Company after having served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. His background includes institutional and private asset management, capital markets as well as institutional equity sales and equity research.

As a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mike went on to earn an MBA from Boston College. He has also earned FINRA series 7, 24, 63 and 87 licenses.

Mike is a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves, where he serves as a military advisor at the Pentagon for an Under Secretary of Defense; he also serves on the board of directors for Children's Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota, and is on the board of trustees for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. He resides in the Minneapolis area.
